Weddings of the World

At the first ever Weddings of the World show, Kenda Farnsworth of NW Events showcased a stunning modern Indian Wedding Showcase featuring colors of teal and orange as well as elaborate peacock decorations! 
The most spectacular part of her showcase was the custom mandap prepared by her team.

What is a mandap? A wedding mandap (विवाह मंडप, लग्नमण्डप) is a covered structure with pillars used for Hindu or Jain wedding. The main wedding ceremonies take place under the mandap. Use of a mandap is an ancient custom and is described in texts like Ramacharitamanas and various Sanskrit texts.

Traditional Hindu weddings are grand affair. They normally take place over several days with elaborate ceremonies, which lasts up to one week!

Wow! What a whirlwind of a day! Thank you to the hundreds of brides, grooms, exhibitors and friends who came today. YOU made our first show a success! I'm so glad so many came out to see the hard work of all the wedding professionals that DONATED their time and energy.
